Slinga Malinga

I'm actually in the middle of my moving day, but while I'm taking a breather I want to call out Lasith Malinga's unprecedented World Cup double hat-trick against South Africa on Wednesday - what a thrilling game!! The four wickets were split down the middle by another bowler's over, but it's still a pretty amazing feat! This guy is really fun to watch with his crazy bowling action and even crazier fro.

Back on the field

My cricket team, Challengers, had its first training session of the year this morning. We weren't even sure if we'd be able to get a full team together for this season, but after a lot of cajoling and negotiation and scrambling for some new players we are officially registered in the league. It felt so great to get out there again, especially to bowl. I'm so pumped for this season!

Challengers are hot to go, H-O-T-T-O-G-O...

I play cricket in a women's rec league on the eastside. It really is a lot of fun.
 
It has been a good season for me so far. I'm not quite sure how this (see pic below) happened, but I'm pretty stoked. MVP! I can put it on my resume, right under the bullet point about the improved handwriting award I got in kindy.
 
More importantly, my team is in the semi finals this weekend against the team who won spring league. It will be tough, but it's not impossible. Some of our new players are really coming good this season, and a couple of our experienced players are in good form. We just need to stay focused, relaxed and positive.
